I m on cloud 9 today....ask me why?Many of u might have noticed it but let me share it with u, now aathidhyam has its own domain name~www.athidhyam.com and i thank my dad(Vice President-marketing) for making my dream come true.....i have one more good news in store i.e, now aathidhyam is gearing up with 100 Followers and 20,000 hits...Wow......Thank u so much readers for all that wonderful support and encouragement...
Today i thought of beginning my post with a sweet note but naah....i thought i will treat u with spicier version of Aloo chat all the way from my mom's kitchen.
Surely a wonderful treat to all the Chaat lovers!!What do you say???
SPICY ALOO CHAAT-

Chick peas- 1 cup
Potatoes-2 (boiled and mashed)
Onion-2 medium sized
Tomato-4 medium sized
Jeera-1 tsp
Oil-2 tbsp
Garlic-3-4 flakes
Ginger-small piece
Salt-as per taste
Green chilli-4-5
Red chilli powder- as per taste
Turmeric powder-1 tsp
Coriander-Handful (chopped)
Spicy additives-(Change them as per ur taste)
Garam masala-1-2 tsps
Chat masala-1 tsp
Channa masala-1 tsp
PROCEDURE-

Soak channa over night and pressure cook until 4-5 whistles.Heat oil in a pan and fry jeera.Gring tomatoes,onions,garlic,ginger and green chilli into fine paste. Now add this puree to the pan and fry till the raw smell subsides.Now add garam masala, red chilli powder, channa masala, turmeric powder and salt.Cook till oil floats on top.Now add mashed potatoes and boiled channa.Cook for 5-10 mins.Adjust salt and then transfer the contents into serving bowl.Finally sprinkle chat masala and garnish with chopped coriander, onions and sev.
SUGGESTIONS-You can also add pudina chutney, tamarind chutney for variation.
You can also add Lime juice.

ReplyDeleteAnd that aloo chaat leaves me drooling! I am a big chaat fan, especially the roadside ones ;) I have to say they taste much better than hotel ones. But that doesn't mean home made ones taste bad, yours look too good to say that! :) Lovely colour!
