TOMATO CHUTNEY
INGREDIENTS
Tomatoes-8 (medium sized)
Green chillies-8
Dry red chilli-10 (broken)
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Mustard powder-1/2 tsp
Fenugreek seeds powder-1/2 tsp
Garlic-8-9 pods
Sugar-pinch
Salt
Oil-2 tbsps
Coriander- handful(finely chopped)
PROCEDURE-
Cut each tomato into 4 and keep it aside.Meanwhile heat oil in a cooking vessel and fry mustard seeds.Later on add green chillies and fry.Also add dry red chillies and garlic pods and cook for few mins.Finally add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft and goey.It takes 15-20 mins.Off the flame and allow it to cool.Meanwhile dry roast mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds separately and grind them into fine powder separately.Now grind the above prepared tomato mixture by adding coriander, sugar and salt as per taste.Cool it and then add 1/2 tsp each of above prepared mustard and fenu greek powder.Mix all the ingredients well and serve.
Tastes best when served with rice,roti,upma,idli and dosa.....
